After growing up in the south, Liz Foster is excited to return to her roots and join the great team at Channel 9 Eyewitness News as the weekend anchor and reporter.

Liz joined WSOC in April 2015, after spending nearly five years as an anchor and reporter in Springfield, Illinois. She hails from Georgia, where she began her career at WMGT in Macon. Liz earned a broadcasting degree from Georgia Southern University.

Liz has covered a variety of stories; from Waste Watch reports about government spending and alleged theft of taxpayer money, to horrific murders that have garnered national attention, tornadoes that destroyed towns and how decisions at a state capitol impact local communities.

Working in news is a lifelong dream for Liz. She even taped her own news show as a child on her family's video camera. She’s passionate about helping others and looks forward to getting involved in community organizations in Charlotte.

Away from the cameras and the newsroom, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family; cooking; traveling; volunteering and watching football and Braves baseball.

Liz appreciates hearing from viewers and welcomes anyone to email with a story idea or just to say hello.
